My inspiration

My plan

Landlord said yes to paint if I kept it neutral-ish. Clay walls, secondhand drawers, nothing screwed into the walls.

What I used

It cost

It took

How I did it

  1. 1Emptied the room properly. Took longer than the painting.
  2. 2Filled every hole, sanded, wiped down.
  3. 3Cut in around the coving with a 50mm brush — two evenings.
  4. 4Two full coats with a day between.
  5. 5Sanded the drawers back to bare pine and waxed them.
  6. 6Put everything back and got rid of two bags of stuff.

Would I do it again?

Yes, absolutely

I'd buy better masking tape. That's the only thing.

Did the landlord want it back magnolia at the end?

  • Aoife M.

He's happy once it's painted well. Got that in writing.
