Plumber quoted €90 call-out. Watched two videos and decided the washer was worth a try first.

What I used

• Tap washer setHardware shop, €6
• Adjustable spannerAlready owned
• PTFE tape€2

How I did it

1. 1Turned the water off at the isolation valve under the sink.
2. 2Opened the tap to drain it.
3. 3Took the head off — the screw is under the little cap.
4. 4Swapped the perished washer.
5. 5Reassembled, wrapped the thread in PTFE, turned the water back on.

After

Would I do it again?

Genuinely the best hour I've spent on the house.
